Mahsa Hosseini, Joseph Milner, and Gonzalo Romero.
Operations Research, 73(4), 2010–2025.

Diverse Assortments in Online Recommendations
Mahsa Hosseini, Opher Baron, Shreyas Sekar, and Azarakhsh Malekian.
This project studies the long-run value of diversity in recommendation systems. When recommendations affect future user preferences or engagement, repeatedly selecting the option that performs best today may be suboptimal. We study when more diverse recommendation policies improve long-run platform performance.
